So I thought about setting up
a reading circle!
Each member of the circle suggests others something to read, everyone reads it, and then the material is discussed FREELY amongst the members of the circle (I'm going to make a chatroom for that in a minute). The material can be prose (preferably fiction), poetry, or a script for a play.
In the chatroom, we'd ONLY discuss the thoughts and ideas the reading material brought to us, and I'd make a transcript of the chat and publish it here on dA.
If you are unable to find the material, then you must say so, and I'd recommended not come into the chatroom when we're discussing some material you were unable to read - there might be spoilers involved.
If you've read the material before, please say so also - and join the chat if you wish.
You especially do not have to read the material if you have recently read it.
If there's some other reason why you can't join the discussion, then please let me know.
The circle would have
a month (or a bit more) to read the material - so we'd have a chatroom session once a month. I'd provide the first month's material, and then in the chatroom we'd decide who's turn is next.
The material suggestor need to send me a Note with the title, author, genre, and a summary of the content, and I'll post it here on my Blog. Please select material that's from different genre than the previous month's material. Also, if it's a series, then please suggest the first part/volume - if we get interested, we'll find the rest by ourselves, right?
You don't have to write a review about the material (unless you want to), but if you do you're welcome to share in the chatroom. But mostly we'd just discuss the characters and the plot etc.

Kuka valitsee ensimmäisen teoksen ja miten se järjestys etenee myöhemmin? Liittymisjärjestyksessäkö? :3 Mikä ensimmäinen teos olisi? Alkuun kannattaa varmaan laittaa joku sangen lyhyt proosateos, jotta on helpompi päästä kärryille kerhon toiminnasta ja mahdollisimman moni voi varmemmin osallistua heti ensimmäiseen keskusteluun. Lyriikka voi tulla sitten myöhemmin. Sillä on jostain syystä kyky karkottaa ihmisiä kättelyssä.

Mie ajattelin jos mie itse ensin valitsisin tuolta kirjaston puolelta jotain (juuri jonkun lyhyehkön proosateoksen, luultavasti enkuksi niin helpompi muiden kanssa puhua aiheesta), ja sitten chatissa valittaisiin seuraava joka valitsee meille lukemista.
Se on vähän sääli, koska yleensä isommissa kokoelmissa on aina jotakin pientä jokaiselle.
Miulle kelpaa yleensä sekä että - toisaalta sarjoja joita olen lukenut vain suomeksi on vähän vaikea alkaa lukea enkuksi (esim. Harry Potterit). Harry Pottereissa esim. hahmojen nimet minulla menee enkuksi helposti sekasin. :/ Ajan Pyörää nyt aloin tilata itselleni englanninkielisenä kun suomeksi niitä kirjoja on yli 20, alkuperäiskielellä noin 10....
Jep. Itse luen juuri 1900-luvun runokokoelmaa (Penguine Books), ja siellä on muutama jotka ovat koskettaneet todella, sitten taas on paljon sellaista mikä menee vähän ohitse.
Jeh. Eeva-Liisa Mantereella on myös aika kivoja runoja. :3
